    Wednesday 11th January

Evening Hill in very strong and gusty NW. It was my first proper go on my recent purchase, Panther LTD 4.5m. Exocet Cross 90l FSW and spent the 1st hour sailing in the lulls and standing in the shallows in the gusts. Like Evening Hill where you launch and for the first 300m, the local anemometer is sheltered in a NW and that was averaging 25 knots gusting high 30s. Later it dropped to '18/20 gusting 30' and I was fine, especially as the tide went out a bit and it was flatter. Wish I had taken my wave board for the 1st hour, the sail was ok, the board too fast.
Nice and sunny and 11c, great session for the harbour.
