I don't know about that one, but can recommend the SJCAM as a budget option. Don't get taken in by the 4k hype, it's almost certainly not genuine 4k if it doesn't cost several hundred quid.

GoPro 6 is coming at the end of the month so I am hoping the 5 will start to drop in price soon.
The image stabilisation seems much better on the 5

I have had one of these cheap Qumox ones for 3 years. Cheap and cheerful but does the job and entertains the kids. Hasnt had a lot of use, albeit plenty of being bashed around in luggage and at top of mast, and rear screen has now packed up (making it fairly useless). We call it our NoPro.

Looks better than mine. I will probably get another cheap one like this for Christmas - so let us know how you get on with it. With benefit of hindsight a dedicated travel case might have kept mine going for longer - chucking it loose into a Tescos bag along with its accessories and flinging the lot into the car to be covered by kit, was not the best tactic.

    Get a go pro session. 150 us/euro
I got the predecessor and it's only HD and gives excellent results.
Plus there's the software that comes with it useable
with future GoPro camera purchase. I can guarantee you
that if he gets I to videoing he will want a second camera.
I have two the old GoPro 2 and this inexpensive 150 € version
    no regrets.
Stick with a forward compatibility camera.
