    Andy, keep with the big fin for big sails, but persevere with the smaller one (eg as mikerb says keep your 36 for a 6.5/6.6m sail) ... and work on the techniques that have been mentioned in this thread - they are all good tips for improving anyway ... and when you get into stronger wind with smaller boards and sails in even more choppy water you'll need to be more sensitive with balancing fin and mastfoot pressure, so keep working on it.

    Spinout can be caused by various things. Normally the sail overpowers the fin.
    One thing I noticed is that, even with awkward footing, backing up my harness lines greatly reduces the chances of spinning out.
    Something to experiment.
