Bottom in overpowered conditions (side)
My last outing was with my 82 lt + 3.7 on a very good side shore day (2.5 mt).
What can I do to depower the sail for the first bottom when there's too much wind? After the first bottom things get better, I think because of the speed I have; but the first one I can't make it tight enough, because I go down the wave + downwind to get speed before attempting to turn... so I end up in the front section (and the turn to get back is waaay wide).
So:
- I'm going upwind with the wave to get to the proper section + get more time on the wave, sheeted in
- when "it's time" I redirect to start the bottom
