I've resorted to grabbing the board bag handle and putting it around the roof rack which holds the board tight to the rack and gives me enough time to get a strap over the board and done up, then I can take the handle off the rack and do the strap up tighter. Works ok...ish

If I had to battle with that I'd glue/sew some hooks onto the board bag(s) that slot under the roof bars to hold it in place whilst strapping. Or glue a few neodymium magnets to the bags & bars.

    Good idea.
So I stitched 4 hoops of webbing on to the borad bag with fishing line so I can bungee them in place while I put the main straps on.

    The clamp idea also works.
Just 5 out of Screwfix. Worth keeping with your kit.
