    fuerteventura north shore 10-18th March

    Hi All,

I'm off on hols tomorrow to North shore Fuert, staying in lajares, so hopefully easy to get to all locations if needed.

Please please, any advice on where to sail on the forecast would be much appreciated. Wind looks quite Northerly for most week so assuming that means choice of tacks on east/west coast. With some decent swell from west I assume cotillo would be the best place but sounds like heavy shoredump wave - any update on what its like at the moment, and i assume that glass would be a bit flat?

I'm planning to hire from Witchcraft, unless anyone knows any better places

    Much appreciated
    Will

it looks like you will have to sail at a number of spots over the next week. Bouke at Witchcraft will tell you where to go. But it looks like

    Sunday - Glass beach
    Monday - Punta blanca
    Tue - Glass beach
    Wed -
Thu & Fri - Rocky point

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the forecast looks very marginal with ithin the reliable timeframe. You need at least 18kts on windguru for <5.3 waveboard planing conditions. Unlike Medano/Pozo etc there is no discernible thermal effect on the north shore.

If it does blow from a predominantly N'ly direction then Puerto Lajas is an option - needs <5.3 wind to kick up a wave. If you're desperate Sotovento is another.

Witchcraft is the place to go for rental, unless you plan to sail predominantly at Flag Beach.

Indeed, but none of the beaches that work in N-NE winds are great for float and ride. Glass is the exception but most likely that will be flat.

Later in the week maybe the wind backs NW...if so and with a bit more strength then you might luck in with a Lobos session. Tides would be good.

Today we had a nice session at La Caleta in 12 to 14 knots cross off:
Tomorrow could be similar at Rocky Point. Maybe monday can be for Punta del Tigre, the wind gets a boost there but it is going to be very big.
