    Boards mass production

Is it true that all brands make their boards in same factory,Cobra in Thailand?

And are board make manually by people(hand-shape,hand lamination ,sanding and painting) or machine/robot does evertyhing automatically like in car-industry?

post some videos of mass production boards for big brands like Straboard,Fantic,JP etc if anyone has it,to see how it looks like ...

No. Many are made there , no all. Some human contact for sure, especially quality control inspections, and between the layers. The details of each companies I feel are proprietary, materials, amounts locations etc.

You are much closer to the Cobra factory in Thailand than the vast majority on here. Pop over, and report.

Vietnam, South Africa , China or a few other locations for larger scale board production operations. Cottage industry locations vary Romania, Slovenia , andy custom of course where ever, Maui, Canada , Canaries .

Yes, Most boards are made in the Cobra Factory in Thailand. Most use CNC machined cores & are hand layed up & finished but molded in composite molds. There are not many(if any) videos of board production in the Cobra factory. As mentioned Windsurfing is a tiny industry, there is really not room for many factories. Below is a list of some boards & where they are made(that I know of...) There are of course smaller custom factories as well but these are most of the "production" boards.

    Cobra Factory:
    Starboard
    Fanatic
    JP
    Tabou
    Quatro
    Goya
    RRD
    Naish
    others...

    Severne: China
    Simmer: China
    others?

    AHD: Tunisia

    Witchcraft: Bulgaria

    Flikka: Slovenia

    Carbon Art: New Zealand

I can not believe that evertything is made by hands,no wonder that cost so much this piece of styropor !!!
it would be better for as costumers to introduce automatical production,it will be cheaper..

I think Cobra is about as Automated as it is possible to get for this type of product at this scale...

In boat production ,mold make sence, but why mold if styropor core is base point?
In hand lay-up without a mold there would be a lot of major finish work. With molding they only have to clean up seams & do final paint etc.. Allot of subtle design characteristics would be very difficult to replicate closely from board to board without molding.
